SGO 2023- Myrtlewood Golf Course
Congratulations Luis Correa, 2024 SGO Champion ...Again!
The 14 golfers of the 41st Swamp Guinea Open began play April 20 with a warm-up round, before beginning "official" play for 4 days (eight 9-hole rounds) on a damp, cool, windy Sunday. A leader emerged after the first day and maintained exceptional play to successfully defend his SGO Championship. Luis Correa led wire-to-wire, ending with an incredible low point total of 18.5! (The lowest possible point total is 8 - single point for finishing solo first in each round.) Congratulations Luis!
Jeff Lindley finished in second place, also going wire-to-wire, separating himself from all other competitors. Kent Larson, Steve Clinger and Cameron Sharbaf filled out the Top 5. Another successful SGO thanks to the hard work of Robert Zayas. And immeasurable thanks to Jeff Lindley for all his organizational work in pairings, handicaps, scoring, and overall support. Thanks to all the competitors, and a special shout-out to OG Gus Mast and his successful return to competition.
Have a great summer, and look forward to the next SGO on April 26, 2025!
